Rick Kennedy’s practice focuses on all areas of commercial real estate law including sales, acquisitions, financing and development. He acts for institutional lenders, pension funds, private owners, major big box retail clients and developers of commercial real estate in its various forms. Rick also acts for lenders, borrowers and guarantors in distressed real estate situations. He practices extensively both in Edmonton and Calgary as well as other municipalities throughout the Province of Alberta. At times his representation of clients extends to Saskatchewan and British Columbia under the provisions of the National Mobility Agreement between provincial law societies. He also acts as an arbitrator in adjudicating conflicts in real estate matters. Rick has written and lectured extensively for the CBA, Legal Education Society of Alberta and various real estate industry groups on real estate issues. He is listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a consistently recommended practitioner in Edmonton in the area of commercial real estate law. He is also listed as one of the Best Lawyers in Canada in the speciality of Real Estate Law.

Janice Agrios’ practice is focused in the area of administrative, municipal, planning and development law as well as general commercial litigation. Janice has extensive experience in dealing with planning and development and other regulatory matters involving municipal, Provincial, Federal and First Nation governments, and in particular, has represented developers and other stakeholders on complex projects that required regulatory approvals from multiple levels of government. She has appeared with respect to administrative, municipal, planning and development and regulatory matters before numerous administrative tribunals as well as all levels of courts, including the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. Janice served as a member of the City of Edmonton Development Appeal Board/Subdivision and Development Appeal Board for six years with the last year as Chair and has been an instructor on administrative advocacy at the Legal Education Society of Alberta Intensive Trial Advocacy seminar. She has been named as a leading practitioner in Property Development Law in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.
